Graduate of Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, BSCE 1985. First licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Louisiana in January 1990.
Mike is the son of a civil/structural engineer, Richard Fergus, who himself spent the majority of his 45 year engineering career in private practice as a consulting structural engineer. Mike greatly benefitted from a 10 year partnership with his father, Richard, learning all of the aspects necessary for success as a structural consultant. Mike also spent time working under the tutelage of Ed Morphy at Morphy, Makofsky, Inc. in New Orleans and in bridge structure design with T. Y. Lin International.
